Intro

The energy label in Spain (Certificado de Eficiencia Energética, CEE) is mandatory for sales or rentals and rates properties from A (most energy-efficient) to G (least energy-efficient). Spain applies EU guidelines, meaning that all homes must have at least an "E" rating by 2030 and at least a "D" rating by 2033. The requirements are being significantly increased because many older Spanish homes now fall below the "E" rating, necessitating renovation.

The certificate is requested from a qualified technician (architect/engineer) and must be officially registered, after which it is valid for 10 years.
